Lower Valley
Ambulance Service is a not-for profit Ambulance Service.
Governed by a Board of Directors from the municipalities of
Cheswick Borough, Harmar Township, Oakmont Borough, Springdale
Township and Rural Ridge and Indianola in Indiana Township. Incorporated in
1973, Lower Valley Ambulance was staffed with all volunteers
until the early 1990’s when it was necessary to add paid staff
to accommodate the high volume and loss of volunteer’s in EMS.
Lower Valley
Ambulance Service is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of
Health as an Advanced Life Support Service. Paid staff is
available at (2) locations 24 hours a day seven days a week 365
days a year at 1201 Freeport Road, Cheswick and 565 Allegheny
Avenue, Oakmont, Pennsylvania. Lower Valley Ambulance operates
a QRS Unit as well as utilizing the UPMC St. Margaret’s Response
Medical Unit as a back-up.
Lower Valley
Ambulance is self supporting through third party billing and
membership donations sent out yearly. Lower Valley Ambulance
is dispatched through Allegheny County 9-1-1 system and is know
as Station 150.

medical equipment to provide the best possible patient care.
Wheel Chair service is available for handicapped individuals for
medical needs only. Restrictions do apply.
